Hi! My name is Rachel Quigley and I am beyond thrilled to teach second grade at Barton Creek Elementary. This will be my second year teaching at BCE, but my third year as part of the BCE family. I am so excited for this year!
I was born and raised in Austin, Texas and graduated from Westlake High School in 2012. After high school, I attended Louisiana State University and earned my degree in Elementary Education. I enjoyed my time in Baton Rouge, but after graduation I was eager to move back to Austin to pursue my dream of teaching in Eanes ISD - the school district that truly prepared me for lifelong success. After arriving back in Austin, I accepted a position as a Special Education Teacher's Assistant at Barton Creek. During my time as a TA, I became certified in Special Education and English as a Second Language.
During my free time, I enjoy being outside and spending time with friends and family. I love to travel and visit new places. My favorite activities include yoga, running and hiking, playing soccer, and baking/cooking!
I believe every child deserves a meaningful and appropriate educational experience. It is my responsibility, as an educator, to find the most effective approach for every student. My goal is to create a classroom environment in which all students feel safe, supported, and encouraged. I am so excited for this year and look forward to creating lifelong memories!
